FIRST MEETING OF 2011 SET FOR FEBRUARY 16
After record numbers of members and guests attended the three AT&T diners in 2010, the club is adopting new rules and increasing the dues. Members will pay a little bit extra in dues but no member(s) will be asked to host the bar. There will be a change in the process of bringing guests and the cost of a guest. Stand by for the latest as soon as I get it from Hopple.
Also a quick plug for Noriaga’s. With the slow down in the economy they are slower now days. Want a great meal without a wait? Try the Basque food at club central-Noriaga’s. We want them to be in business for all the future At&t meetings. Be sure to tell them you are a At&t member.
WE WERE BUSTING AT THE SEAMS
Our last meeting in June brought in so many folks that did not notify me that they were attending (including many that brought guests) that we had a seating problem. Guests, of course, are welcomed, but it doesn’t fly very well with regular Sr. VP’s when they can’t get a seat. If folks don’t notify me of their intentions to attend (and about guests) then I can’t give an accurate answer to a member who does notify me to add to the head count and asks, “Is there room?” Naturally, if I’m only looking at 60 or 70 folks, I tell him/her there is. The room will hold about 110 or so.
We don’t want to have to start giving out tickets or having a cut-off date–that sort of thing. A repeat of June, though, may have to force us to do something, perhaps even reluctantly start limiting the number of guests any member can bring. Also at stake is making sure the Noriega has enough food prepared for everyone.
All we need is for everybody to take building the head count seriously and let me know what your plans are. At least this way, I’ll know if we’re heading toward full capacity and can act accordingly. We’ll always try to accommodate everyone. Sooooo….
Please let me know as soon as you can if you plan to attend on the 20th and your desired number of guests, if any.

JUNE MEETING IN THE BOOKS
A raucous crowd of 85 attended the June meeting of AT&T. The bar was sponsored by Digger Helm-Greenlawn and Mike Helm-Woods Family Mortuary in Tehachapi.
The next meeting is October 21, 2009 at Noriegas.
